Papers and Academic Research

1. Case description

Research project information is often scattered in multiple locations such as reference papers, codes, experimental records, and paper drafts. PilotDeck can read these materials, sort out the research context based on instructor feedback, check data and conclusions in different documents, summarize current progress, analyze to-do items for the next stage, and help scholars advance research.

2. Applicable scenarios and preparation materials

It is suitable for scenarios such as graduation projects, project research, or thesis revision. It can organize existing research results, check multi-party data, gain insight into the latest cases, and provide possible directions for the next step of work.

This article takes students writing graduation thesis as an example. The materials prepared include:

  • Reference papers:The basis for understanding research methods, experimental design and related work.
  • Project code:Used to check the actual implementation with the method description in the paper.
  • Experiment records and results:Used to check whether the data caliber, experimental conditions and conclusions are consistent.
  • Instructor feedback:Clarify current issues, modification requirements and delivery goals for the next phase.
  • Paper draft and project description:Provide research background, existing progress and chapters that need to be improved.

3. Example instructions

Please read the papers, code, experimental records, instructor feedback, and paper drafts in this project folder in their entirety. First determine the current progress of the project, then find at least 3 cross-document data or conclusion contradictions, and mark the corresponding documents. Combined with the reference papers and the instructor's requirements, the next round of experimental plans, code modification suggestions, and paragraphs in the paper that need to be rewritten or rewritten are given. Finally, it is compiled into a "Next Stage Project Promotion Report", which is output according to "Current Progress—Key Issues—Evidence Sources—Action Plan—Expected Deliverables".

4. Processing process and delivery results

1) Comprehensive information to judge current progress

PilotDeck reads project descriptions, reference papers and drafts, combined with code and experimental records, to distinguish between work that has been completed, conclusions that still need to be verified, and issues that affect the next stage of advancement.

2) Check cross-document conflicts and retain evidence sources

Compare the indicators and experiments in the paper, and compare the code implementation item by item. For issues such as inconsistent data caliber, missing experimental records, inconsistency between implementation and text description, list the corresponding documents and content to be checked. The report in the video uses tables to organize key issues and evidence, making it easy to go back to the original materials and check them one by one.

3) Combine the instructor’s requirements to form an action plan

Arrange follow-up work around the discovered problems, sort out where the code needs to be adjusted, the verification focus of the next round of experiments, and the paragraphs of the paper that need to be supplemented or rewritten. The report breaks down the task into phases and identifies the expected deliverables for each phase.

4) View and continue to modify the report in the workspace

final report press“Current progress, key issues, sources of evidence, action plan, expected deliverables”Organize and save as a Markdown document in your workspace. Researchers can open the report to view the analysis results, check the problems with the original materials, add experimental results or feedback, and continue to adjust the research plan.
